Study programs at the academic department of Sport and Health Sciences
Bachelor’s program "Scientific Basics of Sport Science"
In semester 2008/09, the department of Sport and Health Sciences has replaced the former study program "Sport Science" (diploma) with the new bachelor's program "Scientific Basics of Sport Sciences" (Bachelor of Science). The program imparts profound knowledge and techniques that provide a scientific basis in sports.
Master’s program: Movement & Health – Diagnostic Investigation, Prevention and Intervention in the Span of Life, MSc.
Main goal of the program is to provide knowledge and skills regarding diagnostic investigation, prevention and intervention in the main areas of sport and health sciences out of interdisciplinary perspectives. Considering the several growth stages within the span of life, the students will be qualified for a holistic and practical approach. For effective health promotion, it is necessary to check the actual condition as well as the target state considering various biopsychological impacts.
Master’s program: Diagnostics and Training, MSc.
The Master’s program "Diagnostics and Training, MSc. ", in the context of sport science, deals with disciplines like body mechanics, biomechanics, computer science in sport, sports psychology and training science. The students are provided with skills in the field of diagnostics and training from an interdisciplinary perspective, which is necessary in order to embrace the complexity of the diverse influences on the moving body (e.g. biomechanical, physiological or mental influential factors).
